UCAN Find A Scholarship
The Scioto Foundation’s new UCAN scholarship locator is now up and running, SF Executive Director Kim Cutlip has announced. With an easy website address of www.UCANfindascholarship.org, the centralized scholarship database is designed to serve as a one-stop locator for high school students, parents and guidance counselors to search for scholarship opportunities locally, statewide and nationally.

As a major goal of the Scioto Foundation’s UCAN or University/College Access Network program, the scholarship locator was created by Andrew Dudas, PhD., Senior Project Manager of Miami University’s Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs during a year of work to insure that it is complete, accurate and comprehensive. Mike Pavlov of the CPMRA assisted the effort by gathering vital scholarship opportunities from all of the Scioto County school districts who also played a key role in providing and updating information.

“I am so thrilled with the scholarship locator website. To think that the Scioto Foundation could be involved in helping youth access much needed scholarship dollars is very rewarding,” said Cutlip. “I am very grateful for all the hard work and leadership shown from Scioto County’s local school districts and Miami University’s Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs. Without their combined efforts, this website would not exist.”

The one-stop scholarship locator is an important component in the Scioto Foundation’s vision for UCAN that one day every student from Scioto County will have the financial resources to attend the college or university of his or her choice, according to Cutlip.
Organized with simple toolbar navigation, the website contains information on scholarships under the categories of field of study; colleges, focusing particularly on Shawnee State University, The Ohio State University, Ohio University, Miami University, the University of Rio Grande and other Ohio colleges where most local students are likely to attend; all Scioto County high schools; national scholarships provided by corporations and service organizations and the numerous scholarships available at the Scioto Foundation through funds set up by individual donors. visit the UCAN database
